First Time Playthrough: Tobago

Posted by: In: Games

Brian finally got his hands on a copy of Tobago this weekend and while I’m sure there’s a video review planned for the near future, I just had to write a quick post on it today.

After grabbing the game and then heading over to ASU for a monthly gaming group (where I totally kicked butt at Die Macher) we grabbed some dinner, pulled off the shrink-wrap, and ran through the rules.

After making sure we knew what we were doing, we played through the game.  I’m not going to go through the play-through here in order to save that for the video, but I have to say it’s a simple game to play.  It’s fun, quick, and is good for 2-4 players.

The goal of the game is to grab treasure before the others do.  You narrow down the possible treasure locations using a nice card mechanism.  You try to get your jeep there before the others, and on the way see if you can’t grab some amulets on the way.

I’m pretty sure I lost, but I still had a great time playing it, and I really would like to get a 4-player game together soon.  I also have the strong feeling that this game will find its way into my personal collection rather soon, hopefully it finds it’s way into yours as well.

  • Roux Warrior: Yucata.de is turn based though. While it is easier to get rolling in a game, it is more frustrating to play during game. This may depend on the game
